My sweetheart is a well-loved and respected Kindergarten Teacher at Sowams School, Barrington, who grew up and still resides in the East Bay area. She deserves to be a winner in the Valentine's Day Sweetheart Contest. Her Sweetheart husband is a Rhode Island Army National Guardsman who was deployed during Valentine's Day 2006 to Ramadi, Iraq, and then once again during Valentines Day 2008 to Gardez, Afghanistan. She truly deserves a chance for romance, and a bit of public recognition for her herculean efforts, teaching school, raising 2 young daughters, and waiting bravely for good news of her sweetheart's return, which occurred 25 November 2008. |

Sweetheart 2:
I'd like to tell you about my Sweetheart (My wife) Tonya .We got married 17 years ago, and over that time we had two healthy baby boys. Within the first year of our marriage, my wife came to me and asked me what I thought about doing foster care. We had a few conversations about it, and thought it would be a wonderful idea to help children that couldn't be with their own families.
Well, we started taking in children right way, and the house quickly filled up over the years. We are now a permanent family of 10. Six of the children were our foster children that we adopted. Four of them came as toddlers and two came to use as drug exposed infants right from the hospital. Our children are now 17,13,10,7,7,6,3 and 2. My wife stays home to care for them full-time, and also baby-sits for friends so that they can work. She is an amazing woman. This Valentine's Day I'd like to surprise her with something a little extra, since she never takes the time or spend anything extra on herself, since she is so dedicated to our children. I never take for granted on how lucky I am to have such an amazing woman in my life. |

Why my sweetheart should win?
My sweetheart should win this romance package because she always
accomplishes the impossible without ever getting anything in return.
I've never been so happy never smiled so much and never melted so
quickly from just being around a gentle soul. At the age of 21 she has
done nothing but provide for her and her 3 year old son. After being in
an abusive relationship in the past, being kicked out of her home at
15, for her coming out as a lesbian. Life for her has not been easy or
accepting. My wife has always done the best she could, without ever
thinking of what she is missing. She works, pays the bills and provides
by any means.With the economy and being the only one working, she has
many things on her mind, with an endless amounts of struggles, she
somehow remains positive. A a remarkable person, and one to look up to.
When I look into her eyes all I see is perfection, to me she is
flawless. If I can give one thing to surprise her and get her mind off
all the negative, it would be this prize. To get away, escape from
reality and live a night of passion.
