Governor Bradford House (1745)
A Country Inn at Mount Hope Farm, 250 Metacom Avenue (Route 136) 401-254-1745. Eleven nicely appointed rooms feature period furnishings, including many handsome antiques and reproduction pieces. Governor Bradford House and the guest cottage, North Pasture, each have four air-conditioned guest rooms with private baths, some with fireplaces. With over 200 acres of fields, meadows, pastures, woodlands, ponds, streams and a medley of historic buildings, Mount Hope Farm, a landmark on the National Register of Historic Places, dates back to the 1680's. The Governor Bradford House was built by Isaac Royall. Enjoy a spot of tea or read a good book in the Washington Room where the patriots of the American Revolution planned the burning of the Gaspee in 1772.

Hearth House
736 Hope Street, 401-253-1404. With sweeping views of Bristol Harbor, Hearth House, an authentic example of Federal architecture, stands at the corner of Hope and Thames Street. Each room features its own unique characteristics including either a water view or a glimpse of the English garden, a Jacuzzi or a private porch. Each room has internet access, fireplace, and air conditioning.
